A vision board can be an instant mood booster, and it’s a great way to get motivated.

If you need a little help getting started, we have some tips for how to make your own dream board that will actually work!

Why do you need a vision board

You need a vision board so you can visualize your goals and dreams.

A vision board is a collage of images that represent what you want to achieve in life.

For example, if you want to have more money, then on the collage there might be pictures of expensive cars or stacks of $100 bills.

If you're trying to lose weight, then there might be pictures of skinny people on the board with inspirational quotes about healthy living.

The best thing about having a visionboard is that it will keep reminding you what's important and motivate you when things get tough. You'll feel like someone has your back!

What is a vision board?

A vision board can be described as a visual representation of an individual's goals, desires and hopes.

It often contains pictures and words that represent what the person wants to achieve in their life or what they want to have in their life.

Many people use this tool for personal development by writing affirmations on it and displaying it where they will see it every day.

Others might create one with images from magazines and newspapers - these are called collages.

A vision board is an interactive tool for visualizing goals and desires so that one might take action toward achieving them more easily.

The process involves gathering pictures and words that one desires on poster boards or computer files to create a "plan".

Visions boards may also include symbols representing things like

  • love
  • money
  • career
  • success

etc.,

depending on the goal of the person creating them."

In this post, I will explain How to Make A Digital Vision Board That Actually Works.

Before we begin with the making, let's have a look at what exactly a Vision Board is.

What is a digital vision board

A digital vision board is a collage of images, words and colors that represent the things you want in your life - on your computer screen or mobile phome.

It's like a representation of your goals and desires. You can make one for yourself or as part of team building activities with friends.

Visualization is basically a portrayal of a scenario, desire, object, image or information on a board or chart paper.

A digital vision board is a tool

A layout of how your dreams would look like once they've materialized.

A person can simply visualize their dreams in their mind, but it's a lot easier with a board.

It is basically a core technique in the context of the Law of Attraction.

A deeper question is...

What is the purpose of a digital vision board?

The reason or purpose of using a board is that it helps you to manifest your goals by making them visible.

You get to know what success looks like for you.

For example, if you are planning to achieve your goals. A Vision Board will act as a mirror of your future self.

It reflects exactly how it will feel like to to have achieved your goals.

It will:

  • Define through pictures what it exactly feels like
  • And what it means to achieve your goals

That's the purpose of a vision board.

In Proverbs 29:18 King James Version (KJV), he says that

“Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he”.

If we have too little vision, we end up feeling anxious. If we have too much vision and too little challenge, we experience boredom. We must match the level of vision and the level of challenge, and build them in unison, to progress. And to grow optimally.

Categories and board themes

What about vision board categories and themes?

Have you ever looked specifically at which type of vision board you would like to create?

As you probably already know, it’s important to get specific.

  • Would you like to create a vision board for your goals?
  • Is it related to weight loss
  • business or career
  • Or something else..

Some people have also created beautiful vision boards for couples and for dating.

So, let's get started...

How do you make a virtual vision board?

Your virtual Vision Board is a few simple steps away.

Here's what you need to create a better digital vision board by focusing on the most relevant things about it:

1. What should a vision board include?

In the vision board plan, you first must decide what your vision board will be about. Then, you start working on it.

In the first 1 hour, you decide on your high-value ideas. For me, this is business and productivity, the thing I sell and the thing that gets me, customers. For you, this is whatever is your main point of focus is and makes the most sense to you.

Decide what it is now. Make sure you write it down.

2. Checklist

Here’s a useful checklist of things you must have to create a digital version of your vision board. I have chosen to create a digital version because it’s faster in this example.

  1. Pen and paper to write down your ideas
  2. Free photography website to help you select images
  3. A vision board app that will help you create the actual board

I will explain how The App works later in this post.

but first...

3. Write down all your ideas

The first step of creating a Vision Board is to write down what exactly you want from your life.

Here, make a rational choice.

Go for what you want. Not what you need. Because when you have the things you always wanted, the things you needed will be attracted to you.

Makes sense, right?

Start by analyze your current situation and jot down things that would matter a few years from now.

If we continue with my example, I would list the following things:

  • Business vision end result
  • Business how it would look like
  • Business what the profits are
  • Business my inner goal of freedom
4 most important things written down

So now, I have all my 4 most important things written down.

Now, it’s your turn to write down yours.

Avoid skipping steps, this is a practical guide on how to create your dream board.

Done?

4. Collect images/pictures

Now that you have a list of things you want, start collecting pictures of them. Look for inspirational Visualization Quotes, WhatsApp forwards and images that motivate you. Go for the pictures that best represent your future self.

For example, your dream is to own a house.

All you need to do is gather images of your ideal home and place them on a board with captions and quotations that keep you fueled and encourage you to work towards your goal.

With the internet, this step is a cake walk.

Here are a couple of free sites to download image:

Make sure to downloand at least 6-8 images.

Do this first, then move onto the next step.

5. Use inspirational words

Now that you have found the right images, it’s time to choose KEYWORDS. Look for words that represent the end goal in your list of dreams.

Such as:

  • Success
  • Abundance
  • Cash
  • Happy
  • Love/Loving
  • Freedom Lifestyle

Etc.

Do that now and we’ll get ready to start putting it all together.

6. Use an APP

You can come up with a million reasons to put off making a vision board. How many times have you intended to do it but then said...

  • I don’t have time right now. I'll do it later...
  • I don’t have a board, and I don’t have time to buy all the materials.
  • It's too expensive to buy materials.
  • I don’t read magazines so I don’t have any photos that I can use.

Sound familiar? The list can go on and on — until years have passed and you still haven’t started.

Well, here’s the solution, no more excuses and no more procrastination.

A vision board app makes it easy to quickly create vision board that go with you everywhere.

I use a better app called Canva to create my vision board for free.

7. Putting it all together

Step 7.2 - Size Of Your Document

Then, on the rigth hand side, you must manage options by:

  1. Choosing the size of your document.
  2. Thereby choosing whether you want it to be horizontal or vertical.

Got it?

I have explained it below.

custom dimensions

Depending on whether you want it to be horizontal or vertical, you need to add the numbers in the the correct order.

Horizontal:
3508 x 2480 pixels

Vertical:
2480 x 3508 pixels

vertical a4 vision board template

Note: The reason why you need an A4 size is  is because you may want to print it out later. The A4 size is the ideal size for printing.

Step 7.3 - Import Your Images

Third thing to do is to import your images for your vision board.

Here's how you accomplish that:

How to use a Vision board

Take a photo of it with you phone

Set is as your screensaver. This will remind you daily.

Print it out and post it on your fridge

This will definitively remind you about your vision.

Visualize your goals

Now that you have a list of things you want, start collecting pictures of them. Look for inspirational Visualization Quotes, WhatsApp forwards and images that motivate you. Go for the pictures that best represent your future self.

For example, your dream is to own a house.

Place the board in your room where it is prominently visible to you so you end up looking at it every day. This step will remind you of your goal to own a house each and every day and inspire you to go for it even on the gloomiest days.

Feel your vision

I want to include the concept of FEELINGS. Your feelings are what attracts in combination with a vision. When you are planning to manifest your dreams and goals then it's important to enjoy the process.

There is not any better what to do this than to create a vision board while enjoying the feeling in the process.

The Next Step...

A vision board is a visual representation of your dreams and goals.

It's an easy way to remember what you want for yourself in the future without having to write it all down."

Vision boards are a subtle, yet powerful, MANIFESTING hack.

In addition to creating a clear vision for your life, they also make it easier for you to visualize and to manifest your most important goal.
