how-to-visualize-manifesting-goals

In this post, we’ll discuss how to visualize and picture your goals coming true so you can start achieving them.

  • Since Abraham Hicks first brought this remarkable knowledge to our attention, the law of attraction has been inspiring millions to go after their wildest dreams.
  • Although you don’t need to understand exactly why the law of attraction works, you do need to understand how it works, if you are to realise the results you seek.
  • It’s also crucial that you know how to visualize.

The principles are straightforward enough, but not everybody is accustomed to the attitudes and practices required.

For instance, your visualization manifestation techniques may leave a lot to be desired… and that can be taken literally.

Why do you need to visualize?

The law of attraction is a powerful force and it is important to visualize your goals with clarity.

Visualization creates an emotional connection that will draw the energy needed for manifestation.

Visualization allows you to see what you want in detail, as though it were already here, which makes the manifesting process easier.

How can visualization help?

  • It’s a form of meditation that helps focus your thoughts on what you want instead of what you don’t have or fear losing
  • Helps create an emotional connection by seeing yourself having or doing something in detail
  • Allows us to feel grateful for our current lives while still focusing on our desired future

What is visualization

The word “manifestation” is defined as the act of making something happen. This can be equated to visualizing what you want, and then working towards that desired goal with a plan.

Visualization is an important part of manifesting because it allows us to see our dreams in living color before we have them come true.

Visualization works by first focusing on what it is we want and need in life.

What are your goals?

Once this has been determined, the next step is to visualize yourself achieving those goals:

Think about how you would feel once they were achieved; how others might react; how other people will see you when they do achieve them – all these things can help fuel your motivation for achieving your goal(s

How to visualize basics

First off, it’s important that you understand what visualization actually means and does for the human body.

The brain can’t process an image without interpreting it as something real or possible so when you’re visualizing something – whether it’s your dream house or a new car – your mind starts working on solving the problem of achieving those desires by sending out messages throughout the body which include hormones like dopamine and serotonin (which are associated with feelings of happiness) and adrenaline (which gives us energy).

This makes our bodies work harder towards making those things happen because they want them.

There are several things to consider about visualization:

  • Be aware that knowing how to visualize effectively can take some mental adjustment
  • Discipline and consistency must be applied
  • Unwavering focus is essential
  • Certain practices must be undertaken if you’re to develop the mental clarity you need

You may have been wondering how can you access the missing key to the wonderful life you envisage. If you’re unsure how to visualize effectively, that could be the final hurdle.

This detailed guide will take a look at some common issues with visualizing, some techniques you can use and some practices you can develop to improve your visualization skills.

If applied with consistency, the following steps will go a long way toward enhancing your visualization:

1. Understand why your previous visualizations failed

Understand-why-you-previously-failed

Driven, ambitious business owners and entrepreneurs are smart enough to know that one of the fastest routes to success is the law of attraction. When you first read about the law of attraction, it’s pretty exciting. Your imagination fires up and images flash through your mind… naturally, you want a piece of this action.

So you try your mind the law of attraction… and somehow the results you get leave a lot to be desired.

So what’s gone wrong?

Maybe nobody ever taught you how to visualize.

Looking around you, it’s apparent that lots of people are having success with the law of attraction. You have understood the principles and, well, they’re not rocket science… so something must be blocking your progress.

Why didn’t it work for you?

The answer could be related to several things:

  • Your mental conditioning or negative past experiences
  • The strength of your intention and desire
  • A lack of clarity as to what direction you want to go in
  • Your inability to accept the inevitability of success
  • Poor visualization techniques or ability

These are common issues, but there are more. Only you can know which issues belong to you, but there’s a good chance that success is evading you because you don’t know how to visualize what you want effectively.

Do you struggle to see the details of your past memories clearly in your mind’s eye? Perhaps you can conceptualize huge success, but actively visualizing yourself in that coveted position of power is tough.

When you try to imagine a situation, perhaps your mind just offers up a black screen.

This might be why you’re not managing to create the outcomes you’re craving. It may help to keep in mind that there are some very famous people out there who publicly testify that visualization really works.

The following celebrities know how to visualize effectively; with this knowledge, they have boosted their careers beyond measure:

  • Jim Carrey
  • Will Smith
  • Lindsey Vonn
  • Jay Z
  • Kanye West
  • Oprah Winfrey
    *Steve Harvey

These guys are not alone, either. Jim Carrey speaks publicly on the law of attraction, and he’s well worth listening to.

He even attributes his unbelievable fee of $10million per movie to this.

2. Understand the different types of visualization

Understand-different-types-visualization

Visualization is an important part of any manifestation. It’s the bridge between your thoughts and the physical world.

Different types of visualization can be used for different purposes, but all have one thing in common: they start with a thought and end with action.

When you get started with the law of attraction, even if you struggle with visions, you can often feel the excitement bubbling… fortunately, that’s a good indicator that a positive result is probably not a million miles away.

Some people have photographic memories; they’re likely to find it easy to visualize. It doesn’t matter if you don’t know how to visualize clearly… there are lots of visualization exercises that will help you to develop your skills. I’ll get into that in more detail in the next step.

For now, consider these different types of inner vision.

You might find that some of them come more easily than others; either way, understanding the way your mind works will give you a head start when it comes to practicing visualizing for manifestation.

Some different types of visualization are:

  • Memories
  • Dreams
  • Remote viewing
  • Imagination

There isn’t a whole lot of difference between these; they’re created using the same mechanism. However, some of them can be effortless and some have to be cultivated consciously. Let’s take a look at them in more detail:

Memories

Memories are probably one of the easiest visions you can produce; perhaps because the physical eyes have seen the image and formed a lasting impression. It’s less work for the mind to reproduce that image than to create something new.

Not all memories are equal though, and they can fade with time. Trauma memories are the exception to that rule – the impact of the incident forms such a strong impression in the mind that the images can last a lifetime…

…and the mind retains trauma memories with surprising clarity. For example, this is why Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) victims have nightmarish flashbacks that force them to revisit their traumas.

Basically, the higher the original emotional impact, the more likely your mind is to retain the finer details. The positive side of the coin is that you can use this when trying to visualize for manifestation.

Dreams

It seems to be the case that dream recall is easier for some people than it is for others. Some may just not retain their dream memories. However much you remember, if you have vivid dreams, then you are visualizing when unconscious.

You may experience crisp, clear imagery in the dreamscape, and these images will be fresh in your mind for a few moments or minutes when you awaken.

Some people experience lucid dreams, which is another experience entirely. The conscious mind awakens within the dream; you gain control of your dreamscape by becoming aware of your state, so you have total control over your visionary experience.

Below I will cover some activities you can do to promote dream recall; this increases your chances of lucid dreaming, but it also makes great practice for manifesting.

Remote viewing

Remote viewing is a very interesting thing. It’s far less common, but it is possible to train the mind to such an extent that you can view items in a remote location – in detail. Take Joseph McMoneagle of the Monroe Institute, for example.

McMoneagle is considered a master remote viewer and even worked with the CIA as a spy, which you can read about in his book, ‘Mind Trek: Exploring Consciousness, Time, and Space Through Remote Viewing’. It also serves as a remote viewing training tool.

This might be considered a psychic skill, but it’s quite possible that your own mind can be trained to remote view.

Like a muscle, if you never use it, you have no way of knowing what it might be capable of achieving.

Again, it’s a case of practice, discipline and technique.

Imagination

Imagination is the one you’ll be working with the most when you are learning how to visualize. As you haven’t yet created the phenomenal success you’re looking for, you need to create an original picture of what this might look like.

You’re actually using your imagination every time you think. If you organise a business meeting or choose a gift for a friend, you’re using your imagination – more or less every thought you have is imaginative.

Take daydreaming, for example. It has negative connotations, as conditioning tells us that it a waste of time. Yet daydreaming is simply imagining, and that’s the most powerful creative force at your disposal.

When you start to picture a possible outcome in your mind, your creative powers are flowing.

If you then add a strong emotion into that mix, the force is amplified to such an extent that you are starting the manifestation process, consciously or otherwise.

3. Develop a consistent visualization practice

consistent-visualization-practice

We all know that visualization can be a powerful tool for manifesting our desires. It helps us create the life we want in our minds, make it more tangible and feel it as if we are living it right now.

However, many of us have trouble consistently using this technique because there is no “right” way to do so.

That’s why I created DreamMaker – a guided meditation app designed to help you develop a consistent visualization practice based on your goals and values.

If you are serious about learning how to visualize

You must be committed to working with the different aspects of your inner vision. In this way, you can train the mind so that manifestation becomes second nature.

You may have failed at utilizing the law of attraction in the past, which may have created some doubts. Aim to start out with a fresh, open mind; there are simply some creases to be ironed out, and discipline will help to form more effective mental habits.

It’s not a case of simply understanding the concepts. A regular practice is necessary to understand how to visualize. Make it your plan to hone the following skills:

  • Focus
  • Meditation
  • Dreaming
  • Memory recall

You may not need to do all of these, but the more you do, the more mental clarity and focus you’ll cultivate, which can only be a good thing. Aim to set aside some time every day. Consistency is crucial when learning how to visualize and manifest.

There are various techniques you can use, including:

  • Dream diaries
  • Memory training
  • Mental image training
  • Visualization boards
  • Meditating

Let’s take a look at each technique in more detail:

1. Dream diaries

Dream diaries are not only an excellent tool for lucid dreaming; they also help to promote clarity of thought, clear imagination and better memory.

The more you recapitulate your dreams, the more you can visualize outside of the dream state. It works best when you note down as many details as you can, including any feelings, symbology and realisations. Doing so can tell you a lot about yourself too – it’s a great tool for personal growth.

2. Memory training

By combing through your memories and bringing back as many details as possible, you are using your inner vision. Try to picture what your colleague was wearing last time you saw them. That might not be easy if you hadn’t intended it in the first place, but you can set yourself similar tests to see if you’re able to improve.

If you have a photo album, you can try to recall the details from the photos before you look at them, to see how much information you naturally retain.

3. Mental image training

Mental image training is another useful tool when learning how to visualize. Think of an object and try to hold the image in your mind for as long as possible. It’s just a form of meditation, but instead of emptying your mind, you’re cultivating strong focus.

Simple images like triangles and circles are sufficient.

A more advanced form of this is the sigil, which is essentially a symbol that invokes the law of attraction. The infamous Aleister Crowley was a huge fan of sigils. They are symbols that you create out of a sentence stating your intention.

Next, you’ll hold the symbol in your mind before releasing it – while in an emotional state. Sigils are considered to be a form of magic by many, but they also help you learn how to visualize pictures.

Law of attraction visualization boards

Creating a visualisation board is as powerful as it is fun.

It’s one of the more potent methods you can use to manifest your goals, and it’s incredible inspiring.

By collecting vision board images that represent your aspirations and pinning them to a physical or virtual board, you’ll create a full picture of the life you’re trying to create.

You can create and look at your vision board often and visualize yourself in the scenarios.

The more you imagine them, the more you’ll feel the emotions that come with them.

There is no goal too small for your board, so let your imagination run wild and see what arises.

As goals are realised, mark them off so you can keep track of what has worked.

What is a visualisation manifestation?

A visualisation manifestation is a physical or mental representation of something that you want to achieve. It can be used as a tool to help you focus on your goals and bring them into reality.

There are many different ways to create a visualisation manifestation.

You can use images, words, affirmations, or even objects to represent what you want to achieve.

Some people prefer to use visualisation exercises or meditation techniques, while others may find it helpful to create a vision board or set goals using a journal or planner.

Ultimately, the key to creating effective visualisation manifestations is to be clear and focused on your desired outcome. By regularly practicing this technique and taking action in line with your goals.

The definition of visualisation manifestation:

The act or process of making something visible, especially through artistic means such as painting, drawing, or sculpture:

“the visualization of data from the new telescope”

synonyms: representation, portrayal, depiction; More

the creation of mental images, often as a technique for concentrating on and obtaining results in sports, medicine.

Conclusion

You’re ready to go…

Now that you have a set of tools for your law of attraction practice, learning how to visualize is something that you’ll undoubtedly achieve if you practice regularly.

Mental focus, clarity of intentions, better memory and dream recall will be byproducts… but your inner visions will be a force to be reckoned with and the law of attraction should no longer feel so evasive.

Lastly, don’t that visualisation manifestation only works if you work it!

If you ordered a package online, you wouldn’t be constantly checking that the order went through.

Doing so equates to a lack of trust, which is a killer for manifestation… once you’ve created your visualizations and truly felt the emotions that correspond, your order is placed.

Now that you know how to visualize, you can sit back, close your eyes, relax and wait for the magic to happen.
