Does Caffeine Reduces Fertility in Women

Attention all baby-crazy ladies. (and mice)

A new study from the University of Nevada School of Medicine.

It has has given women trying to get pregnant a reason to avoid coffee.

A study conducted in mice showed that caffeine exposure reduces muscle activity within the Fallopian tubes. Which makes it more difficult for an egg to travel into the womb.

For a woman to become pregnant, an egg must be able to travel down the fallopian tubes and implant in the uterus.

In mice, the presence of caffeine interferes with the coordinated fallopian tube contractions.

Which are responsible for moving the egg.

The discovery that muscle contractions are integral to the movement of an egg is a new finding. And one that could help physicians. To understand complications that arise in the fallopian tubes. Example of such are ectopic pregnancies or pelvic inflammation.

This tip is also beneficial for people who don't want to get prego. Well, it'll be beneficial once we figure out how to keep our fallope muscles perfectly still.

Researchers hope that the link between caffeine and reduced fallopian tube muscle activity.

Which could explain why women who consume a lot of caffeine have difficulty conceiving.

Until we get some real answers, maybe it's best to play it safe and lay off of the joe if you're trying to conceive
